Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Second Opinion, an educational site that explains the math behind forecasts for elections, sports and world events. It is not a betting or gambling site. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Second Opinion (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

2. What the Service is

Second Opinion is an educational tool. It publishes independent probability forecasts for elections, sports and world events and explains the math behind them, so you can understand how a number is built and get a second opinion. Our models combine public data (such as polls, results, schedules and injury reports) with prices from prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi, and we grade every forecast in public once the outcome is known. The Service is a source of education, information and analysis only. It is not a betting or gambling service.

3. Not financial or betting advice

Nothing on the Service is financial, investment, legal, tax, or betting advice, or a solicitation or recommendation to enter into any transaction. Our probability estimates are opinions generated by models and may be inaccurate. You are solely responsible for any decision you make, and you assume all associated risk. 4. No betting or trading through the Service

Second Opinion does not accept wagers, offer games of chance, pay out winnings, execute trades, hold funds, or place orders on any sportsbook, prediction market or exchange on your behalf. Any betting or trading you choose to do elsewhere is entirely between you and that third party, subject to that venue's own terms, eligibility rules, and jurisdiction restrictions.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally permitted to use analytics tools of this kind to use the Service. You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you, including any restrictions on prediction-market participation in your location.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by scraping at scale, reverse-engineering the simulation engine, reselling our estimates without permission, interfering with the Service's operation, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these terms.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, simulation methodology, calibration record, and design, is owned by Second Opinion and its licensors. Underlying market data belongs to the respective venues and data providers. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial analysis.

8. Third-party data and services

The Service relies on third-party market data and signal sources. We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of those third parties. We may show market data as-is and do not warrant it.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Second Opinion is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any losses arising from your reliance on our estimates or from any trading or financial decisions you make.

10. Changes and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also terminate or restrict your access if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property and limitation of liability) will survive.
